First Willow Warbler

Lade - warm, dry and sunny, w 2 - With the wind finally relenting I ran the trap last night, but it was slim pickings numbers wise with only 14 species of macros. However, it did include a couple of quality moths in Marbled Coronet and Toadflax Brocade, plus a smart Elephant Hawk-moth.
The only migrant of note on the local patch this morning was an early Willow Warbler by the ponds. This afternoon the wind picked up again on the beach where ten Mediterranean Gulls were on the sands on the falling tide along with 10 Sandwich Terns and hundreds of Black-headed Gulls and the usual Curlews and Oystercatchers.
