Dipped Dowitcher

The Midrips - 1130hrs - mild, cloudy, wet, sw 3 - Following a call from PB concerning a Long-billed Dowitcher that was flushed off Hayfield 3 by Peregrines towards the Army ranges, along with a Greenshank, we headed for Jury`s Gap and the long walk out along the sea wall. However, en-route we met CT and OL who were on their way back from the Wickes with long faces, so only checked out the first two lagoons which held small numbers of Avocet, Curlew, Redshank, Barwit and Shelduck. Singing Wheatear, Skylark and Mipit also noted, plus a Kestrel.
Dungeness -  1430hrs - An hour from the seawatch hide with PB, TG et al delivered the expected Gannets, Fulmar, Commic and Sandwich Terns feeding offshore, plus 30 Common Scoter, three Arctic Skuas and a Bonxie moving up-Channel.
