Lade - 0730hrs - cool, wet, sw 5 - The wettest day we`ve had down here for a while, together with a blustery wind, made for poor birding conditions, although it didn`t seem to bother my hairy mate. A few Swifts and Swallows drifted over north lake and a Willow Warbler singing in the back garden were the only migrants of note.
ARC - At least 30 Swifts over the lake and across the causeway road this afternoon, plus around 100 Swallows and House Martins. Otherwise very quiet, mainly due to the poor weather.
Other news today concerned two Black-winged Stilts on the Dengemarsh flood.
