A washout

Dungeness - 1345hrs - mild, cloudy, sw 4 - This morning was a washout with heavy rain throughout, but at least it meant I could catch up with some long overdue paperwork. As the rain petered out this afternoon we tried an hour at the fishing boats but there was nothing much happening apart from a steady flow of Gannets, a few Kitts, three Common Scoter, two Little Gulls and a Med Gull. An adult Yellow-legged Gull was amongst the roosting gulls on the beach and that was about it really.
Lade - Pretty quiet here too with most of the wildfowl on the more sheltered north lake. Over the back a soggy looking Marsh Harrier was struggling to hunt in the blustery wind, and by 4pm the light was going fast enough to encourage a couple of Little Egrets to fly in to roost in the willow swamp.
