Common Redstart

Lade - 0700hrs - misty, still, mild - The garden moth trap was full of common species, plus a Dark Swordgrass, but sadly nothing with blue in the hindwing...
Bird wise it was much quieter on the local patch this morning, although a Common Redstart was noted amongst the passage warblers around the ponds, where also a Great Spotted Woodpecker and 20 Long-tailed Tits. On the lakes all the usual wildfowl, egrets, grebes and terns, plus three Green Sandpipers on north lake and two Stonechats on the Desert.
ARC - Late morning from Hanson hide delivered a few waders including 23 Blackwits, Golden Plover, Dunlin and Little Ringed Plover. Amongst the hundreds of eclipse ducks were three Wigeon and a Garganey.
