Yellow Wagtails

Lade - warm, dry and sunny, light airs - A superb drop in of migrants on the Desert this morning included 48 Yellow Wagtails, 12 Wheatears, five Stonechats and two Whinchats, plus several more Yellow Wags over and two Whimbrels. At least 10 Willow Warblers around the ponds and two through the garden, where a smart Hummingbird Hawk-moth spent 15 minutes feeding on the Salvia Hot Lips. In the garden moth trap another migrant Pale Shoulder, while down the road earlier in the week at the KRC, the first Marbled Clover in 60 years was recorded in one of the traps.
