Garden Moths

New Romney - mild, cloudy, SW3 - The mild, overnight weather conditions delivered a decent catch of autumn moths in the garden trap this morning that included a number of highly variable Lunar Underwings, a Beaded Chestnut, a couple of superb Black Rustics and a well-marked Dusky-lemon Sallow. With the forecast promising a mild week, hopefully there will be more goodies to come..., one of them blue uns will do nicely!

                                    Green Woodpecker, Church Lane

Out and about around the Marsh countryside these past few days has produced countless Chiffchaffs still moving through, a few Skylarks, Grey Wagtails, Swallows and House Martins overhead and a noticeable increase in Kestrel and Sparrowhawk sightings, plus a Hobby over the weekend in the Church Lane spinney.
