Back to normal...

Dungeness - 0900hrs - warm, sunny, ne 3 - A much milder morning, but still with that north-easterly wind nagging away. We checked the Patch where two Med Gulls were the only interest amongst a small number of mainly immature gulls. At sea a few Gannets fished in the dazzling sunshine and two Black Redstarts sang from A station. On the flowers beside the power station wall a Hummingbird Hawk Moth, several Common Blues and a Hairy Hawker noted.
ARC - The motley selection of Gadwall and Mallard at the south end had been joined by 50 Pochards, mostly drakes, probably fresh in from their breeding grounds in the east.
Dengemarsh - Very pleasant early evening walk around the marsh in gorgeous sunshine with Marsh Harriers and Hobbys over the reedbed, Common Terns back on one of the rafts, Redshanks and Lapwings in the hayfields, singing warblers, Beardies pinging and flight views of a Bittern, wonderful stuff.
