Hamstreet GWE

Dungeness - 0800hrs - cold, sunny, nw3 - Plenty of gulls around the boats which for some reason were very flighty. Managed brief views of a 1st winter Caspian and an adult Yellow-legged, plus a red colour ringed Herring Gull. The ever present Glaucous was patrolling the foreshore. Thousands of dead starfish washed up in the recent storms attracted a flock of 20 Turnstones.
Walland Marsh - Took the back road from Lydd to Old Romney where 12 Bewick`s Swans (in three groups) noted, plus 100 Curlews, 50 Common Gulls and a Little Owl.
Hamstreet - The Great White Egret was showing well around noon, on the RMCanal, beside the garden centre, where it posed in the sunshine for the camera.
                                           Dungeness - Gulls Galore
                                           Dungeness - starfish
