Lade

Lade - 0900hrs - A grey old winters day with a chilly westerly scudding across the shingle. Most of the ducks were on north pit with only a couple of Goldeneyes and a Pintail to break the monotony amongst the legions of Coots, Tufteds, Gadwalls and Pochards. Two Marsh Harriers and a Merlin hunting over the farmland.
Tower and ARC Pits - 1400hrs - Did a circuit around the pits and back via the hides. A mixed flock of 20 Long-tailed Tits, Chiffchaff and Cetti`s Warbler, 5 Green Wodpeckers and 2 Marsh Harriers at Tower Pits. Cracking views of a pair of Peregrines `kek-kek-keking` around the water tower, probably thinking what a great nesting site that would be if only the local water company hadn`t put metal grills over the ledges to keep the pigeons at bay - why, we could have done that for free... blah, blah, blah.
On ARC distant views of the Long-tailed Duck, 12 Goldeneyes, 6 Shelducks, 4 Pintails and an adult Yellow-legged Gull. Also, brief view of a Firecrest on the Willow Trail.
