Lade - 0830hrs - bright, chilly, w4 - With a scudding wind whipping across south pit most of the wildfowl had decamped to the shelter of north pit where 3 Goldeneyes amongst the massed ranks. Both Cetti`s Warbler and Chiffchaff calling in the willows. Buzzard and Marsh Harrier over the `mirrors`.
Called in again at sunset and counted 36 Magpies going to roost in the willows plus 100 odd Starlings and 20ish Woodpigeons.
On the way home from Folkestone this afternoon had a quick look from the Stade St. bridge in Hythe for the Great Northern Diver on the canal. Had no luck, but later heard that it had, "moved to Waitrose" - but can it afford to! (per MH). Also, the 3 Snow Buntings and a Short-eared Owl still at Littlestone.
Back at Dungeness the Penduline Tit showed from Hanson this morning (TG) and a Great White Egret remained on Dengemarsh.
